McAllen Chamber Supports State Broadband Efforts

By McAllen Chamber of Commerce

The McAllen Chamber of Commerce supports the state of Texas broadband efforts. Millions of Texans households lack broadband access that prevents them from attending online classes, submitting online job applications and accessing marketplaces. These barriers affect the quality of life and limit economic opportunities for Texans.

To combat this, the Texas Broadband Development Office (BDO) was established during the 87th Legislative Session. BDO has developed a Texas Digital Opportunity Plan for achieving reliable and affordable broadband, device access, digital skills training and cybersecurity awareness.

BDO is seeking input from the community with a short survey, please click here to complete.

The 10-minute survey will gather information about individuals’ current experiences using the internet and should be completed by one individual per household. Please note the survey is anonymous, has an optional speed test and is available in English, Spanish, Chinese and Vietnamese.
