What motivated you to start this business?

BugWorks originated from the opportunity we saw to provide world-class customer service to residential and commercial clients needing pest control services in the Rio Grande Valley. After having low-grade experiences with another pest control company, we were displeased with the quality and the customer service given as consumers. As customers, we recognized that we could elevate the services provided to our community. As a result of our dissatisfaction, we then started BugWorks and have been proudly serving valley residents for over eighteen years.

What is the history of your business?

In 2004, BugWorks was founded and operates from South Padre Island to Starr County servicing our community’s most prominent market leaders. During the global pandemic, we were fortunate to be one of the businesses that remained open, thriving, and providing pest control services. We prioritize constantly adapting to our customer’s needs.

What product/special services do you offer?

We offer customized commercial & residential general pes0t control. We service healthcare, hospitality, education, the food industry, produce warehouses, and government & construction facilities. Some of our pest-specific services to meet our client’s needs include bee & wasp hive removal, rodent control & exclusion, flea & tick, mosquitoes, termites, general pest control.

What makes your business product/service standout from the rest?

BugWorks is locally owned and operated, with over 18 years of experience in the pest control industry. We have a 4.9 organic Google star rating and provide effective pest control services at a reasonable price. We inspect, treat, and follow up as we guarantee customer satisfaction. Our staff is bilingual, and we constantly strive to build long-lasting relationships with our customers while utilizing eco-friendly products and methodologies. Every customer we speak with, whether existing or new, is always greeted by our office staff with a smile, and we treat them as family. Offering same-day and emergency services, we provide free quotes, prioritize and care about your health and safety and solely operate using the safest products in the market.

Thus, we are pleased to serve the animal community and take pride in prioritizing using the best solutions, which are animal-friendly formulas to protect our beloved furry family members. We offer military, medical, and school discounts. We take pride in calling ourselves pest control experts; besides our business longevity, we concentrate on pest control needs all year round. In other parts of the country, there are only two or three seasons; nonetheless, we treat pests in the RGV regularly. For us, it is fundamentally integral to make our customers feel like part of our family and to continuously train our technicians, putting quality over quantity and placing the needs of our customers first.

As a small business owner, what does business means to you?

As small business owners, business means a responsibility to give back to our community, wearing many hats and juggling different responsibilities each day. Comprehending our commitments helps us stay organized and on track to expand and offer our clients better product quality and services. Customer service is done on purpose!

Are you involved in any initiatives that give back to the community? If so, please elaborate.

It has been paramount to us to give back to our community. In the past few years, we have continuously been fortunate to be patrons of the DHR Cancer Foundation and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and we have donated services to the Palm Valley Animal Society. Additionally, we are in the process of planning and coordinating a blood drive. We also understand that pest control can be a luxury; therefore, we are committed to and vigilantly providing effective, reasonable, and affordable prices to meet different budgets.
