All of Texas is invited to come and compete in the South Padre Island Boot Camp Challenge. Let's represent the Rio Grande Valley and LEAD the State of Texas to a Healthier Way of Life. The event is for the entire family to have a fun filled day as they compete in a 1 mile Obstacle Course for the kids and a 3 mile Obstacle Course for the adults. Showcase your business to the entire state by sponsoring the SPI Boot Camp Challenge. Gather your friends and employees and create teams to represent your business or organization. You can also sponsor a specific Obstacle Course where some of your employees or staff will volunteer as drill sergeants. There will also be a Fit & Healthy Expo where you can feature your business and services to the Rio Grande Valley and the State of Texas. All participants will receive a T-shirt, dog tags and a goody bag filled with sponsor promotional items. Go to www.spibootcampchallenge.com to get your sponsorship packet and more detailed information on the event. Obesity and Diabetes are very serious conditions here in the Rio Grande Valley. Our sister cities around the state also struggle with the same conditions. We can't change this by only providing them healthcare, because most often that is too late. We need to support events like this to create a new identity in our community. We need to come together and create a new culture of active living and awareness. The SPI boot Camp Challenge will provide Exercise Science scholarships for Valley students, support for our Local American Diabetes Association and provide fitness programs for our kids.
