Each year, the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and the City of McAllen Parks & Recreation host the largest and most anticipated event of the year, Candlelight Posada held at the historic Archer Park.Last year, Candlelight Posada brought in over 38,000 attendees from around the community. The fun starts with a lighted Christmas parade and the lighting of the Christmas tree on Friday night and continues throughout the evening with plenty of entertainment for the entire family.
Teen Town and Little Town continue to be big attractions for teens and small children with plenty of games and activities. On Saturday night, the community is invited to join in singing along with the nativity procession of the re-enactment of Mary & Joseph seeking shelter.
Musical entertainment will follow throughout the evening for the entire family. Over 30 taste-tempting food booths are available selling items such as fajita tacos, funnel cakes, buñuelos, hot chocolate, roasted corn and much, much more.
